I Hear and I Forget, I See and I Remember, I Do and I Understand–Confucius

Sharing is caring!

There are many different ways of learning: from visual to audio, from book smart to street smart, from watching others to doing some things yourself. I encourage you to try every possible way to figure out what works best for you. Any theory or logic in your head might be true or might not work unless you put them into practice. Couple days ago an old friend of mine was sharing his opinions about the bay area, and how much he hates the area. After he finished talking, I asked if he has been to the area because it sounds like he has been there many times. Surprisingly, his answer was “no, I have never been to the area and I will never want to.” I answered “alright, I see.”

As we all come from different backgrounds and have different beliefs, whatever others think, feel, and know are ONLY others’ experience that they will never be yours unless you do/experience it yourself. Do the things you want to do and expand your own life experience will help you understand more about what you truly want, what others are going through, as well as understanding the world and how things work. For instance, if you want to start your own business, you would not truly know what works and what doesn’t unless you do it yourself and learn from every part. This is also why H4H likes the ideas of practice make it perfect that almost every event we have audiences to role-play right after the seminar so that they can practice what they have learned on the spot. Don’t just hear and see but do it, because that’s the best way to truly learn and understand.

Takeaways: Take as many actions as possible to truly learn and understand. You are in charge of your own life experience, because they will be never be the same as others’.
